Skiing
110 kilometers of slopes are waiting for you in our nearest ski area: Nassfeld. The wide and well-groomed slopes offer skiing fun for all abilities.
A shuttle bus will take you directly from the hotel to the gondel in the valley. Ski courses or ski instructors we can organize for you on request.
Cross country skiing
If you love cross country skiing, in region Nassfeld-Presseggersee, you are in the right place. The cross-country skiing network stretches over 300 kilometers, past massive mountain ranges or sparkling lakes.
If you just want to try it or if you are a beginner, we have a small cross-country ski trail directly at the house. Our trainer Peter will be happy to show you the right technique.
Ski jumping for children
Yes, you read it right. With us, your childeren can try out their talent on the mini jump.
All adventurous girls and boys are welcome and do not need anything for this sport, just a little courage.
Ski tours
The region around our Karnische Hof is a ski tour paradise. In the Julian, Carnic or Gailtal Alps, tours for every ability and fitness level are waiting for you.
If you wish, you can take part in guided tours or enjoy trudging through the wintery snow-covered landscape on snowshoes.
Ice skating
Every year, natural ice is only found in one place in Carinthia: Lake Weissensee. This turquoise-blue mountain lake turns into the largest ice skating rink in Carinthia every winter.
Whether you explore the ice in a horse-drawn carriage or on foot, you will be in a beautiful idyllic setting.

Our family hotel is located at the foot of the Carnic Alps in St. Stefan/Gail. The special location, south of the Alps, gives our region the most hours of sunshine in the country and provides us with a pleasant Mediterranean climate.
The best way to refresh tired legs from the mountains is to jump into the nearby Presseggersee or relax in our in-house wellness area.
